Foundation Castles Bolzano
The Foundation was established by the Municipality of Bolzano in 2007 with the purpose of administering Runkelstein Castle and Maretsch Castle.
Since then, the Castles Foundation has been organizing annual temporary exhibitions at Runkelstein Castle, accompanied by the publication "Historical and Cultural Writings" series.
Following an agreement between the Castles of Bolzano Foundation and the Heimatschutzverein Bozen-Südtirol in 2014, the ruin of Rafenstein is also managed, in terms of its public opening, by the Foundation, while the organization of events and the rental of the ruin is the responsibility of the Heimatschutzverein.
